August 2017 Events in Ottawa

What a year it has turned out to be for Ottawa! With all the amazing events planned for our city, there has been an influx of tourism which has been great for our economy. From Canada Day celebrations to the out of this world performances by La Machine, you can’t deny that Ottawa has been a happening place!

AND it doesn’t stop there, there is still plenty to see in the month of August:

Kontinuum July 16-September 14 –  A multimedia production which takes place in Ottawa’s future Lyon Light Rail Transit (LRT) station. Free tickets are available on their site or at the door:

MosaiCanada150 10am-7pm Everyday until October 15 – Celebrate Canada’s 150 years of history with a trip to Jacques Cartier Park in Gatineau to enjoy an incredible garden created with 33 mosaiculture displays. This is another Free event!

Casino Du Lac-Leamy Sound of Light August 5,9,12,16&19 – Enjoy a fireworks display on the grounds of the Canadian Museum of History with the backdrop of Parliament Hill on various days this month! General admission is $10.

Cirque Du Soleil Volta August 3-27 – The amazing circus act is back this month to showcase a new acrobatic act in Gatineau! Tickets start at $39

Canada’s Table August 27 – This event sold out within minutes but there is great anticipation to see how it will turn out! Top chefs from around Canada will offer a four course meal to a single 1000 person table set up on Wellington Street. A once in a lifetime opportunity!

YOWTTAWA August 21 – See Guns N’ Roses and Our Lady Peace rock out at Lansdowne! Also attend the tail gate party prior with Canadian artists. Tickets start at $75

Free Yoga on the Hill Wednesdays until August 30 – Enjoy free yoga on Parliament hill every Wednesday at noon!
