More Info About LRT in Orleans

After attending a meeting hosted by Mayor Jim Watson yesterday in Orleans, I now have a better understanding of what is in store for the east end of the city once the LRT arrives.

The LRT is set to be up and running on November 30th, 2018. By the year 2022 it will have a line built east (East Confederation Line) to Trim Rd. There will be a train every 4 min. once completed. We also know now that the train through Orleans will run down the middle of the 174 as apposed to along the back of residential properties.

Knowing this information, Orleans is expected to see a boost in its economy. With the east end having some of safest communities in the city and the highest amount of professionals, there is no doubt that bringing in the LRT will increase property values! It will be faster and easier to travel out this way, making it a great option for home buyers.

Also proposed for Orleans:

  • More residential condo towers by Brigil at Petrie Island
  • Gradual makeover for St. Joseph making it the heart of the community
  • Possibility for government growth in east end
