Welcome to Orleans! This suburb of Ottawa is located about 16 km east of downtown Ottawa. It has very family oriented neighbourhoods, great shopping (Place d’Orleans mall, Innes Rd, St. Joseph Blvd.) and wonderful schools. Orleans is growing rapidly with hundreds of new homes being built in the south end. In addition, new recreational facilities, schools, and businesses are popping up all across town!
The Ottawa River pathway spans 30 km from Kanata into Orleans and it is breathtaking! The trail leads to Petrie Island, the Orleans beach that can be enjoyed in the summer by kayakers, boaters and swimmers.
One of the older recreational facilities in the area is the Bob MacQuarrie Recreation Complex. Here you will find The Elizabeth Manley skating rink where the silver medalist trained for the 1988 Olympics.
The Shenkman Arts Centre opened its doors in 2009 and hosts many events and fundraisers for the community. You can find local artwork, plays, workshops, concerts and much more here.
If you are looking for a community that is family friendly, safe, active, close to downtown Ottawa and constantly evolving you’ll love it here!
